Biography

2022: Earned Academic All-PacWest distinction and tabbed PacWest Player of the Week honors on 4/25... AppearedĀ in all 57 games starting 56 for the Cougars in his final season… Went 52-for-175 at the dish (.297 AVG%), scoring 54 runs and tallied 31 RBI… Recorded a .623 SLG% with five doubles, two triples and tied for second on the team with 16 home runs. Led the team and PacWestĀ in hit by pitches with 26 and an OPS of 1.103... Ranked 2nd in the PacWest inĀ SLG% and home runs, 4th in OB%, and 6th in runs scored... In a victory over Cal State Monterey Bay in the final game of the series, he went 4-for-5, with two home runs, four runs scored, and two RBI. On the mound, he recorded a WHIP of 1.57 over 11 appearances… In 15.1 innings pitched, he struck out 24 and tallied four saves (7th in PacWest)…. In a must win game against Cal State Monterey Bay in the West Regional, he hit a home run in the 8th inning to tie the game, then earned the save on the mound striking out two in the 9th inning.Ā 

2021 (Junior): Was named aĀ NCBWA All-American Honorable Mention in addition to being named to all threeĀ first team All-West Region teamsĀ (NCBWA, ABCA, D2CCA)... was also a firstĀ team All-PacWest selection as well... Dykstra was the only player to appear in all 43 games, starting 41...led team with a .391 batting average...had career highs with 10 home runs and 29 RBI...made 10 appearances on the mound, striking out 15 batters over 9.1 innings and earning a team-highĀ four saves as the Cougars primary closer... Enjoyed his first multi-homer gameĀ in an 18-12Ā win over Concordia (April 16) in which he went 3-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, and two runs scored.

2020 (COVID-shortened season):Ā Appeared in all 20 games, starting 19 of them in center field... Led the team in hit-by-pitches (8), sacrifice bunts (7), and sacrifice flies (2)... Was second on the team in runs scored (15) and total plate appearances (83)... Had a .283 batting average with one home run and eight RBI...Ā Recorded a .974 fielding percentage which included 36 putouts and one outfield assist... Also, pitched one-third of an inning, striking out two, while allowing two earned runs... In the home-opening 5-0 win over Chico State (February 5), Dykstra’s first hit of the season was a solo home run to right-center field, he drove in a second run when being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded... In a 12-1 Valentine’s Day win over Dixie State (February 14), went 3-for-4 with three singles and scored two runs.

2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in 43 games with 36 starts in center field… Had a batting average of .227 with five home runs and 16 RBI while tallying 25 hits and six doubles… scored 31 runs while walking 21 times recording a .384 OBP… In a 22-0 win against Hawai’i Hilo (March 22) went 3-3 with three RBI, three runs, and two walks… In a 3-1 win against Hawai’i Hilo (March 23) had two hits with three runs and two RBI… Also appeared in four games as a pitcher across three and a third innings with four strikeouts… Was named to Academic All-PacWest.Ā 

2018 (Freshman): StartedĀ six games and played as a reserve in 33 games… Posted a .179 batting average… Stole two out of four bases… Made 38 defensive putouts and had three defensive assists.

High School: Graduated from Santiago High School in Corona, Calif... Played three varsity seasons for coach Ty DeTrinidad... Was a team captain his senior season... Was named 1st team all-league his senior year...

Personal: Born April 7, 1999 in Simi Valley, Calif... Son of Brian and Sue... Has one sister Hannah... Uncle Lenny Dykstra played in the MLB for 12 seasons with the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies... Two cousins, Cutter and Luke Dykstra,Ā were drafted out of high school and played minor league baseball... Studying Kinesiology... Interested in becoming a personal trainer... Enjoys hiking, surfing, competitive spikeball, trickshotsĀ and backflips.
