2018 (junior): Appeared in 10 games, was 2-0 on the season and recorded a save, had 3.93 ERA in 18 and 1/3 innings… opponents batted .275 against Jorgensen, he struck out 13 while walking only six… In a 15-5 win over Biola (April 28), Jorgensen struck out two batters while pitching two scoreless innings in relief to end the ballgame.
2017 (sophomore): Appeared in 15 games on the mound for the Cougars in relief… Posted a team leading 1.50 ERA in 24.2 innings … The 15 appearances tied for the lead for the Cougars’ relievers … Recorded three saves on the season... During a 14-6 win against Concordia-St. Paul (March 2), appeared in relief and collected his second save of the year after striking out one, and allowing no hits over three innings of work… During a 6-5 loss to Fresno Pacific (March 11), appeared in relief and held the Sunbirds to three hits over and striking out a season high four batters over 3.2 innings of work
2016 (freshman): Saw regular use out of the bullpen as a true freshman, throwing 19.2 innings across 14 appearances…allowed 11 ER while striking out 17 and walking eight…finished the season with a 5.03 ERA.
High School: Was a two-sport athlete at Ontario Christian, playing baseball and basketball... Played center for three years on the varsity basketball team under head coach Mike Fischer... Averaged 3.4 points and 5.3 rebounds as a senior... Reached varsity on the baseball team as a freshman, coached by former Cougar standout Justin Duarte... As a sophomore, junior and senior, played under head coach Chuck Belk, who is the father of Cougar pitcher Joel Belk... Played both corners of the infield and pitched... Was named to the all-league team as a junior and senior and as a senior was named team MVP... Had a career batting average of .291, including a .338 batting average as a junior with two home runs and 17 runs batted in... On the mound, had a career record of 20-10 with a 2.46 ERA with six shutouts and six saves... As a senior, compiled an 8-3 record with a 2.35 ERA in 74.1 innings pitched and 79 strikeouts... Against Cerritos, went 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run and a double before stepping on the mound for a two-inning save with three strikeouts... Against Aquinas, threw a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts... Against Ontario, threw nine shutout innings with just one hit allowed and 11 strikeouts before the Knights scored the game winning run in the ninth inning to win 1-0... As a junior and senior, earned first team Ambassador League recognition.
Personal: Born on Nov. 3, 1997 in Glendora, Calif. to Gordon and Danielle Jorgenson... Gordon is an associate dean of University College at Azusa Pacific and played collegiate baseball at Biola... Danielle was the Cougars' women's basketball head coach for eight years and is now a professor at Azusa Pacific... Danielle played her collegiate basketball at Biola... Both parents received graduate degrees from Azusa Pacific... Has two younger siblings, Annaka and Nolan... Is majoring in mathematics and wants to become a math teacher after time at Azusa Pacific.
