2022: Named the best catcher in the west region by the NCBWA, D2CCA and ABCA... Selected as a First Team All-PacWest performer and earned Academic All-PacWest honors... Appeared in 54 games in the leadoff spot in his final season as a Cougar… Went 68-for-208 at the dish (.327 AVG%)... Led the team with 66 runs scored, 37 walks, and was tied for first on the team with 13 doubles… Recorded a .543 SLG% with 10 home runs and 113 total bases… Ranked top ten in the PacWest in runs scored (2nd), at-bats (4th), walks (4th), hits (8th), home runs (9th), and doubles (10th)... Over 469 total chances on defense (1st in PacWest), he only committed five errors, with 407 putouts (1st), 57 assists, and caught 13 stealing (1st in PacWest), ending the season with a fielding percentage of .989... Went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBI and two home runs, one of them being an inside-the-park home run to help the Cougars earn a victory over Cal State Monterey Bay, sending them to the Super Regional.Â
2021 (Junior): Was an ABCA All-American third team selection and a D2CCA honorable mention All-American... Tabbed as the NCBWA West Region Player of the Year and was a D2CCA & ABCA West Region first team selection... named to the PacWest first team... appeared in 42 games, starting 38 as the Cougars primary starting catcher...recorded career-highs in batting average (.357), home runs (12), and RBI (44)...homered in three consecutive games at Fresno Pacific (March 11-13)... Recorded his first collegiate multi-home run game in a 9-3 win over Holy Names (May 6) going 2-for-4 with two homers, five RBI and two runs scored.
2020 (COVID-shortened season): Appeared in all 20 games, starting 18 of them behind the plate... Led the team in walks (15), putouts (126), total chances (145), and fielding percentage (1.000)... Second on the team in on-base percentage (.423)... Had a batting average of .274 with one home run, and 11 RBI... In a 9-1 win over Hawaii Hilo (March 6), batted leadoff and went 3-for-5 with a three-RBI double...In a 16-3 win over Hawai’i Pacific (February 29), went 1-for-4 with a bases-clearing double.
2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in 26 games with 10 starts… Had a .176 batting average with three RBI and six hits… Tallied one double and one triple on the year… scored seven runs, walked six times, and was hit by a pitch twice… Had a fielding percentage of .988 with eight assists and caught one runner stealing.
2018 (Freshman): Started nine games and played as a reserve in 14 games… Posted a .194 batting average… In a 17-3 win over Chico State in the NCAA Regional (May 18), went 1-for-3 with a bases clearing double in the first inning and also had a sacrifice fly later in the game… In a 10-7 NCAA Regional Semifinal win over Point Loma (May 19), went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the third inning.
High School: Graduated from Paraclete High School in Lancaster, Calif... Played four varsity seasons for coach Greg Burnias... Was a team captain for three of his four varsity seasons... Posted a .419 batting average his senior year with 10 extra base hits and 22 RBI... Won League MVP and League Defensive MVP in his junior and senior seasons... Was a first team all CIF selection his senior year as well.
Personal: Born June 24,1998 in Lancaster, Calif... Son of Douglas and Pamela... Has five sisters... Studying Business Management... Wishes to continue his baseball career after college professionally... Was his high school's Valedictorian... Enjoys sports and hanging out with friends.
