THIS YEAR: An opposite hitter, freshman Kelsey Knudsen will be a good front row player this season … Is immediately a candidate to push for time … Will be looked upon this season for a big block or hit at certain times … Also has the capability of playing middle blocker if called upon.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Christian High in San Diego under head coach Barb Wnek (former Point Loma Nazarene head coach) … Played 3 seasons of varsity volleyball … As a senior was selected to the All-CIF second team … Helped propel the Patriots into the state playoffs.
PERSONAL: Born Feb. 28, 1987, to Craig and Karen Knudsen … Has 1 sister (Kristi) and 1 brother (Tyler) … Her father, Craig, played 4 years of basketball at San Diego State … Her aunt, Lesley, played 4 years of volleyball at UCLA … Undecided on a major.
