Biography

THIS YEAR:  Senior Shannon Coe led the GSAC in total points last season and will once again be an important scoring threat for Azusa Pacific … Will be a candidate for postseason awards again this year … Has a high level of technical ability … Is very confidant on the ball … Has displayed her versatility by playing in the defense during her career … Was one of the top marking backs in the NAIA last season … Has a high-level understanding of the game. 

2004:  Had a terrific season in which she led the GSAC in almost every offensive category … Named an NAIA All-American with her selection to the third team … Led the GSAC in scoring with a total of 36 points … Tied for the conference lead with 13 goals with Jamie Belmont of Fresno Pacific … Was the GSAC leader with 10 assists … Had a remarkable 6 game-winning goals in 18 games … Was 1 of 5 Cougars that garnered All-GSAC honors …  Finds herself tenth on the Cougars’ all-time assists leader board with 17 …Was part of a Cougar defense that allowed only 9 goals all season … Got off to a great start after tallying 16 points in the first 7 games of the season … Recorded 5 points in a game on 3 separate occasions including back-to-back wins over Cal Baptist and Vanguard … Scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in both contests … Also had 2 goals and an assist in a 5-0 defeat of Grand Canyon (Ariz.) … Opened the season with a 4-point performance in a 4-0 win over St. Mary (Neb.) with a goal and 2 assists … Scored in the 94th minute to beat Cal Poly Pomona 1-0 in overtime … Lifted the Cougars to a win with goals in the 88th minute and 90th minute in a come from behind 3-2 win over Cal Baptist (Oct. 13) … Scored an overtime goal in the 94th minute on a header from a yard out off a left cross to give the Cougars a 2-1 win over Concordia in the NAIA Region II semi-finals.  

2003:  Proved to be a nice addition to the line-up last year after starting all 20 games … Split time between the attack and defense … Would often be called upon to shutdown the opposing team’s best attacking player … Named All-GSAC after scoring 6 goals and assisting on 7 others for 19 points … Took 25 shots as well … Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over California Baptist … Scored her first goal of the season just one week prior in a 2-0 win at The Master’s … Tallied an 8-point night when she scored a hat-trick and had 2 assists while factoring in all 5 Cougars goal of a 5-1 win over Hope International … Scored a goal and had 2 assists in the Cougars’ 4-0 win over McKendree (Ill.) in the second round of the NAIA Tournament. 

FLORIDA ST.:  Played her freshman season at NCAA Division I Florida State for head coach Patrick Baker … Appeared in 22 of 23 matches, making 3 starts for the 13-7-3 Seminoles that advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament … Started 2 of the first 3 games in the defense, then moved to the front as the season progressed … Recorded her lone point with an assist in a 3-1 win over Central Florida. 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 4 varsity seasons at Temple City High in Temple City, Calif. … Named All-Rio Hondo League first team and all-area second team as a 2002 senior … Named All-RHL third team and Rookie of the Year as a 1999 freshman … Also played 2 varsity seasons of softball. 

PERSONAL:  Born March 24, 1984, in Downey, Calif., to Bradley and Dominique Coe … Has 1 brother (Dennis) and 1 sister (Deirdre) … Majoring in global studies.
