THIS YEAR:  Junior Matt Nelson again factors into a reserve midfield role … Provides quality depth on the outside… Has the ability to score … Has excellent all-around skills and is versatile. 

2003:  Appeared in 5 games, all in reserve in the Cougar midfield … Took just 1 shot. 

2002:  Played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman, starting 6 of them in the midfield … Scored 1 goal and registered 4 shots … Scored his first collegiate goal in the Cougars’ season-opening 6-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.). 

HIGH SCHOOL:  Played 4 varsity seasons at Lewisville High School … Was a 3-time All-District 5-5A first team selection … Scored 42 goals and had 34 assists in 4 years, including 3 consecutive seasons with at least 10 goals and 10 assists.
