Galinis Earns PacWest Recognition

Senior posts personal-best 8K at Biola Invitational to lead APU men’s cross country.

AZUSA, Calif. — Azusa Pacific senior Kyle Galinis has been named the PacWest Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, following a standout performance at the Biola Invitational this past weekend at Ted Craig Regional Park in Fullerton.

Galinis placed fourth in a talented field of 165 runners, clocking a personal-best 8K time of 24:20, a 17-second improvement from his previous mark. He finished behind only two Division I competitors—Michael Archie of Grand Canyon (24:11) and Elijah Gentry of Pepperdine (24:12)—and was 25 seconds faster than the next PacWest runner in the field.

A native of Newark, Calif. native, was a Third Team All-PacWest selection in 2024, placing 15th at the conference championships. His strong start to the 2025 season has set the tone for his squad as they look to contend in the PacWest.

The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, competing at the TMU XC Invitational.
