Kyle Galinis earns All-Region status in Monmouth.

MONMOUTH, Ore. — Azusa Pacific cross country wrapped up its 2025 season on Saturday morning at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships, hosted by Western Oregon University. The Cougars battled through cloudy skies, cool 52-degree temperatures, and steady wind gusts on the campus course at the Ashe Creek Preserve.
 

Women's Recap – Godina Closes Career with a Personal Best

In the women's 6K race, the Cougars placed 18th out of 28 scoring teams with 480 points.
Senior Sophia Godina closed out her collegiate career in impressive fashion, leading Azusa Pacific across the line in 58th place out of 191 runners. She clocked a personal-best time of 21:48.84, capping her APU career with one of her strongest races to date.

Behind her, true freshman Alex Doolan delivered a breakout performance, finishing 75th overall in 22:04.14, also a personal best. Doolan's result highlighted a promising foundation for the future of the women's program.
 

Men's Recap – Galinis Leads Charge in Senior Sendoff

In the men's 10K, Azusa Pacific secured an 11th-place finish out of 23 scoring teams with 317 points, marking a solid showing against one of the deepest regional fields in the country.

Senior Kyle Galinis capped off his Cougar career with a standout performance, finishing 22nd out of 163 runners in a personal-best time of 30:26.96. Galinis's run put him inside the All-Region threshold and was among the top Division II times in program history.

Aaron Lakeman, in his first season with APU, crossed the line in 62nd place (31:34), while Jonas Teeterl rounded out the Cougars' top three with a 73rd-place finish (31:58).
