SAN DIEGO, Calif – Azusa Pacific snagged a first half lead down at Point Loma, however the #14 ranked Sea Lions found two second half goals to beat the Cougars 2-1.
APU opened scoring in the 38th minute thanks to some tidy interplay up top. Osmin Carranza found the ball at his feet and gave a back heel pass into the path of Aidan Drought who carried the ball into the box. Drought then laid the ball off to Luis Solis who found himself 25 yards from goal. A first-time strike from Solis sent the ball into the top left corner of the PLNU goal, making the game 1-0 in favor of the Cougars.
APU would hold the lead until the 55th minute when a PLNU corner kick taken short was crossed into the box and headed into the goal. The game remained tied until just one minute and 5 seconds remained when the Sea Lions snatched a last minute game-winner.
