LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Azusa Pacific fell on the road to #6 LMU in a Golden Coast Conference game, losing by a 14-5 final. The Cougars are now 15-12 overall, and 3-4 in GCC play. Kaelene De Bie had two goals, Alexandra Akritidou had two assists, and Maria Boix Pascual had a goal and an assist for the Cougars. 

How It Happened: After the first period, LMU held just a 2-0 advantage, but the Lions were able to push their lead up to 7-1 with 2:24 on the clock before halftime. The Cougars were able to add two goals over the final two minutes of first half play, bringing the score to 7-3 at the break.

LMU expanded its lead to open the third, scoring four unanswered to bring the margin to 11-3. At the end of the third period, Azusa Pacific found itself training 13-5. Over the final period of play, LMU held the Cougars scoreless while adding two more goals.

By the Numbers: Each team was called for nine exclusions on the day, with LMU scoring four power play goals while the Cougars scored just once on advantage. From the penalty spot, the Lions were 2-for-3, while Azusa Pacific converted its only five-meter shot. LMU was 14-for-25 shooting (.560), and the Cougars were 5-for-23 (.217).

Up Next: With the regular season wrapped up, the Cougars will now turn their attention towards the postseason. Next weekend, the Cougars will head to the GCC Tournament, hosted by Santa Clara, which will be Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28.
