AZUSA, Calif. - Azusa Pacific women's tennis is the PacWest Team of the Week, after the Cougars beat Hawai'i Hilo and Biola by 6-1 scores last week.
The win over Biola earned the Cougars' a season-sweep of the Cornerstone Cup, and Azusa Pacific is now 18-1 all-time against the Eagles, including five wins in a row.
The Cougars are currently on a 14-match winning streak, and they have been ranked No. 20 in the latest ITA national rankings with a 15-1 overall record. Three of Azusa Pacific's wins were secured by a 6-1 score, and the Cougars have shutout opponents by a 7-0 score six times.
In addition to the team's national ranking,
Madison Kane and
Miruna Tudor also represent the Cougars in the national rankings, as Kane is the nation's No. 21 singles player, while Tudor is No. 39. As a doubles duo, the pair is No. 9 in the doubles rankings.
The Cougars will look to keep things rolling this week, as they host Westmont on Friday (Mar. 29) and Point Loma on Saturday (Mar. 30).
