AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific women's soccer earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2022 season, which was announced earlier this week. In order to qualify for the award, a team had to post a composite team grade point average of 3.0 or better among all players on the roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

The women's program posted a 3.55 cumulative GPA, which earned them the Team Academic Award for the fifth consecutive year. Of the 30 student-athletes on the Cougars' roster in 2022, 26 had a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, including 19 who finished at 3.5 or above.

The Cougars open their season on August 31st, when they face Cal State Monterey Bay for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at the Cougar Soccer Complex. Before this, Azusa Pacific will face Cal Lutheran in a home exhibition match on Wednesday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. Click here to follow the live stats for the match.
