MONTEREY PARK, Calif - Azusa Pacific turned in yet another impressive performance on day two of the PCSC Championships. Two more school records were broken along with four podium placements after solid performances in the pool.
To start off finals, the 200 Freestyle relay team of Madeline Schultz, Riley Smith, Hannah Swailes and Montana White finished second and broke the school record after finishing the race at 1:34.80.
Next in the 500 Freestyle, White took home a first place finish, touching the wall at 4:55.74. Smith who finished the 500 Freestyle finals with a time of 5:04.92, turned in a personal best time of 5:00.79 in prelims, which was her fastest time in this event since swimming a 5:00.90 at the PCSC Championships in 2019.
Amanda Anderson turned in a time of 2:06.03 in the 200 IM earning a second place finish on the podium and Schultz finished third in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.43, which is now a new school record for Azusa Pacific.
"Another strong day for us. Our Cougars achieved lots of personal best times and season best times. We were solid in the pool and on the boards. We will see what we can do in the pool on day three!" said head coach Tim Kyle.
Azusa Pacific still remains in second place after two days of competition with 437 total points.
