AZUSA, Calif. – The Cougars capped off a perfect 4-0 home stand with a 93-62 victory over Dominican Saturday evening inside the Felix Event Center. Six Cougars scored in double figures in the win.
How It Happened: The Penguins were able to keep pace for the first 10 or so minutes, taking a small lead at 8-6 and tying the game for the last time at 13-all on a three-point play seven and a half minutes into the contest. But the home team would step on the gas from there. McKelery Robertson hit a three that would kickstart a 28-6 run over the next 10 minutes that allowed the home team to run away with the game. The Cougars would make six triples as part of the run, eventually taking a 27-point lead into the locker room at 48-21.
If there was any doubt as to the outcome at that point, the 18-4 run the Cougars opened the second half with quickly settled them. Azusa Pacific would lead by as many as 42 en route to closing out their fifth consecutive victory.
