How it Happened - The home team struck early when freshman Joshua Lugo set up a ball in front of the net for Gomes who took advantage and gave the Cougars an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of play. Azusa Pacific continued to pressure on their half of the pitch when Diep was given a free kick off a foul, and his shot was deflected off the Griffin's goalie where Siegfried was in perfect position to score his first goal in a Cougar uniform to go up 2-0 in the first 17 minutes of play.

The second half started with the same pace as the first for the Cougars.
