TUCSON, Ariz. – Azusa Pacific won both of its games on Saturday at the D2 Cactus Classic, and with a 6-0 win over Eastern New Mexico in game number two, Cougar head coach Carrie Webber tallied her 400th win at Azusa Pacific. Webber, who is in her 15th year at Azusa Pacific, has led the program to 10 winning seasons, including four national tournament appearances. In 2016, Coach Webber's squad won the program's first PacWest Championship, and she was selected as the conference's Coach of the Year that season. Webber is second only to Sharon Lehman (428) in all-time wins in program history.

GAME ONE: Azusa Pacific 9, Western New Mexico 0 (5 inn.)
Â
Not only did the Cougars explode offensively in game one for nine runs, but Katie Korstrom became the eighth Cougar in program history to throw a five inning no-hitter. Of the 15 outs she recorded, seven of those were via the strikeout, as she had at least one punch out in each of the five innings. With the win, Korstrom's record improves to 3-1, and she has an ERA of 1.31 over 20.2 innings pitched.
Â
The Cougars opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, as Amanda Woods led off the inning with a single and she advanced to third on back-to-back wild pitches. Olivia Smith would score Woods with a sacrifice bunt.Â
Â
In the bottom of the third inning, the Cougars opened the game up with a four-spot in the frame. Dani Burghardt made the score 2-0 when she singled to drive in Smith, who had led off the inning with an infield single. Aly Montesino, who had worked a walk and had reached third base on Burghardt's single, was able to score on a passed ball that made it 3-0. Aleah Delgado added another run with an RBI double that brought Burghardt home, and Delgado would eventually come around to score on an RBI single from Sommer Quinones that made it 5-0.
Â
After Korstrom sat the Mustangs down in order in the top of the fourth, the Cougars stepped back up to the plate and put up another four spot in their half of the inning. With the bases loaded and no outs, Quinones was able to draw a walk that would bring in the Cougars' sixth run of the contest. It then became a 7-0 game when Ally Chin hit into a fielder's choice with the bases loaded that brought in another run. A Mustang error allowed another run to score, and then Erica Hanson tacked on another insurance run with an RBI single that plated Chin.Â
Â
In the top of the fifth inning, Korstrom held the Mustangs scoreless, which put into effect the mercy rule that ended the game after four and a half innings.
Â
GAME TWO: Azusa Pacific 6, Eastern New Mexico 0
Â
The Cougars carried the momentum they gained in game one right into game two, as the bats, pitching and defense all delivered in the victory.Â
Â
In the circle, Sydnie Sahhar, Liz Phillips and Aly Montesino combined for the seven-inning shutout. Sahhar started the game for the Cougars, pitching five innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight batters. Phillips came on in relief in the sixth inning, and Montesino closed it out in the seventh to secure Webber's 400th victory. Neither Phillips nor Montesino allowed a hit.
Â
The Cougars opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the third. After Woods started the inning with a single, she stole second base and an overthrow on the play allowed her to take third. Smith would then single to third base, which put runners at the corners with no outs. With Montesino at the plate, Smith took off for second base, which drew a throw from the catcher. On the throw, Woods broke for home and scored. Not only did Smith steal second on the play, but she then stole third base a few moments later. Smith would score on an RBI single from Montesino to make it 2-0.
Â
Azusa Pacific added to its lead in the fifth inning, scoring three runs on four hit and two errors. After Smith led off the inning with a bunt single, Montesino smacked her second home run of the season, as the two-run long ball to right field made it 4-0. The third run of the inning came with the bases loaded and two away, when Hanson hit an infield single that brought Delgado in to score. The Cougars added one more run in seventh, as a throwing error allowed Chin to cross home plate safely.Â
Â
For the sixth time this season, the Cougar defense did not commit an error, while recording 21 putouts and three assists.
Up Next: Now 6-7 overall, the Cougars will open PacWest play with a trip to the Bay Area. Azusa Pacific will open with a four-game series at Holy Names (Mar. 3 & 4), followed by a four-game set at Academy of Art (Mar. 7 & 8). Following the eight games up north, the Cougars will host Concordia for their PacWest home opener on Saturday, March 12, with a doubleheader set to start at noon.
