Daylee Hanson Named PacWest Defender of the Week

After advancing to an undefeated 11 game PacWest conference streak, Junior Daylee Hanson receives PacWest Defender of the Week.

AZUSA, Calif. -- Junior guard Daylee Hanson was named PacWest Defender of the Week, as she helped lead Azusa Pacific to three conference victories last week.

Currently ranked seventh in the nation in total steals, Hanson leads the PacWest with 49 steals for the season, and she also leads the conference with 3.8 steals per game during PacWest play. As a team, Azusa Pacific is currently ranked fifth in the nation in steals. In last week's victories over Point Loma, Holy Names, and Notre Dame De Namur, Hanson recorded 13 steals, tying a season-high with six against Point Loma before her career-high of seven steals at Notre Damde de Namur to close out a 3-0 week.

Hanson also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game for the week, with 12 of her 21 boards coming on the defensive glass. She also blocked 4 shots on the week.

Azusa Pacific is currently undefeated in conference play going 11-0 in PacWest play with a 14-3 overall record on the season. The Cougars will continue PacWest play when they host a Cornerstone Cup matchup against Biola on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 5:30 p.m.
