AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific placed three players on the All-PacWest women's soccer awards, with junior midfielder Emmy Koflanovich and sophomore defender Haley Bostard collecting second-team honors while freshman midfielder Ella Romero earned All-PacWest third team recognition.
Koflanovich finished the season with two goals and four assists, and she scored a game-winning goal against Dominican which sparked the Cougars to a four-game win streak midway through the 11-game PacWest schedule. In a 3-1 win against Academy of Art, Koflanovich also played a key role in all three scores, finishing with a goal and two assists in the game.
Bostard served as an anchor for the Cougar defense throughout the season, starting all 17 games for Azusa Pacific. In 12 of those 17 games, Bostard helped hold opponents to one goal or less, including four shutouts. Bostard also scored a goal this season, and had an assist.
Romero had a strong freshman season, finishing the year with four goals. The Cougars opened the PacWest schedule with a road trip to Hawai'i, in which Romero scored three goals in the first two games. Against Chaminade, Romero had two goals, including the game-winner.
Azusa Pacific finished out the 2018 season with a 6-9-2 overall record, with a 6-3-2 PacWest record. The Cougars finished the season fifth in the PacWest.
