SAN DIEGO -- Azusa Pacific lost its second PacWest match of the season Tuesday night, falling in four sets (25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22) to host Point Loma. Senior

Kaylen Higa recording 24 assists on the match.
Point Loma jumped on the Cougars early in the first set, taking an 8-2 lead. After Azusa Pacific pulled within a point at 17-16, the host Sea Lions doubled the Cougars' scoring through the rest of the set to win by a score of 25-20, taking a 1-0 match lead.
The second set was a back and forth battle featuring 10 ties and five lead changed, but Azusa Pacific's final lead (15-14) was answered by an 8-1 Point Loma run. That gave the Sea Lions a 22-16 lead and an eventual 25-19 set victory.
Facing a potential sweep, Azusa Pacific battled back in the third set. Point Loma held a 10-8 advantage until the Cougars recorded four of the next five points, starting with a Radisic kill followed by two kills from Klapp and an attack error by Point Loma. That gave Azusa Pacific a 12-11 edge, and the Cougars never trailed again in the set. Klapp secured the third set for the Cougars with her fifth kill of the set, forcing a fourth set with a 25-18 third-set win.
Point Loma never trailed in the final set, closing out the match by a final of 25-22.
Azusa Pacific falls to 16-6 overall and 12-2 in the PacWest, and the Cougars are now tied with Biola for the conference lead heading into a Saturday afternoon visit to Fresno Pacific on Saturday, October 20 at 3:00 p.m. Following the trip to Fresno, Azusa Pacific returns home for another installment of the Cornerstone Cup, welcoming PacWest co-leader Biola for a Tuesday, October 23 contest at 7:00 p.m.
