All Around Dominating Effort

OAKLAND, Calif. – It was a complete victory by just about any definition.

Azusa Pacific never trailed and everyone contributed as they cruised past Holy Names 98-60 on Saturday afternoon.

With the win the 20th ranked Cougars move to 12-2 overall and 3-1 in PacWest games.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Azusa Pacific scored the game's first bucket and by the end of the quarter had a double figure lead. They never let the Hawks (1-11, 0-4 PacWest) within singles digit the remainder of the contest.

The Cougars were fierce on defense as they forced Holy Names into a season high 34 turnovers. Azusa Pacific took full advance of those miscues as they posted a 55-15 edge in points off turnovers.

For the first time this season Azusa Pacific nailed at least 50 percent of their field goal attempts as they converted 37 of their 72 shots (51.4 percent).

Everyone who played hit at least one field goal as all 12 players who dressed for the game scored.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

- Azusa Pacific recorded a season best 21 steals. Zoe March had a team high five.
- Abbigail Goodsell was the Cougars leading scorer as she tallied 16 points
- March went 6-for-9 from the floor en route to a 15-point contest. The sophomore also dished out a team best six assists
- Tara Casey hit four three-pointers and scored 14 points
- The low post duo of Gabrielle Kaiser and Samantha Huddleston each went 5-for-7 from the floor and scored 13 and 10 points respectively.

UP NEXT: The Cougars travel across the San Francisco Bay to Notre Dame de Namur for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Monday. It is the final game before the Christmas break.
