ST. GEORGE, Utah – Not a bad way to conclude a career.
With her two shots on goal, Stephanie Lossau scored twice as Azusa Pacific knocked off DixieState 2-1 to conclude the 2017 season.
With the win, the third straight by the Cougars, the squad ups their record to 9-5-2 overall and finishes tied for second in the PacWest (9-2-2, 29 points).
HOW IT HAPPENED: Dixie State scored first as Tori Page notched her eighth goal of the season in the 10th minute.
Lossau got the first of her net-finders in the 15th minute when she converted her first penalty kick of the season. She scored what proved to be the game winner just a few minutes later. The senior got a pass from the right side from fellow senior Katelyn Rogers and deposited the ball into the goal from inside 10 yards.
Haley Bostard nearly made the score 3-1 but her attempt in the 32nd minute hit the crossbar.
In the second half the home team pressed into their upper third but a stingy defense kept them off the scoreboard. The Trailblazers took five shots on frame in the final 45 minutes.
