Box Score BURNABY, British Columbia -- Azusa Pacific kept its NCAA Division II playoff hopes alive and claimed its second consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship with a 21-6 road win at Simon Fraser University.
The No. 23-ranked Cougars were led by senior running back Terrell Watson, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns to break his own school and conference records for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in a season.
He broke both marks, which he set last year, when he broke through a third-down run up the middle for 55 yards to extend the lead with 4:45 to play. With his 128-yard effort, Watson now has 1,815 yards (#2 nationally) and 24 touchdowns through 10 games of the Cougars' 11-game regular season.
Azusa Pacific (9-1, 6-0 GNAC) extended its conference winning streak to 13 games heading into next week's non-conference regular season finale against Menlo College (NAIA), and the Cougars have won 23 of 26 games dating back to the middle of the 2012 season.
