SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Three nights ago, Azusa Pacific put together its finest performance of the season using sharp passing and a balanced attack to get a sweep of No. 20 California Baptist.
Tonight, however, the Cougars reverted back to their old selves and struggled passing and hitting and as a result suffered a 3-game sweep at Westmont, 31-29, 30-24, 30-26.
With the loss, the Cougars fall to 8-5 on the season, 2-2 in the GSAC. Westmont improves to 4-6, 2-1.
Against Cal Baptist, the Cougars committed just 3 serve receive errors. Tonight, they had 11, and the Warriors took advantage of every one. Also, the Cougars hit just .144 to Westmont's .237.
Katrina Anker led the Cougars with 13 kills, 5 digs and 2 aces. Briann Huff had 11 kills and 3 digs. Alison Pattison had a match-high 13 digs.
