Additionally, with Westmont falling at home to Fresno Pacific, Azusa Pacific increased its conference lead to 3 games over the second-place Warriors with 7 GSAC games remaining. The Cougars, who are gunning for their second GSAC title in the past 3 seasons, are closing in on an berth into the NAIA Tourney that is automatically awarded to the GSAC regular season champ.

The Cougars led 33-24 at the half after canning 12 of their first 25 shots. Godoy led a balanced attack with 8 points.
Stephanie Patten scored 7 points and
Jennifer Barbone added 6 after making all 3 of her first-half field goal attempts.
Biola pulled to within 4 points in the second half but could get no closer as Azusa Pacific pulled away for its sixth consecutive win over the Eagles.
The Cougar defense, which has shined all year long, produced another gem, holding Biola to a mere 31% (20-for-65) shooting from the floor, including an icy .281 (9-for-32) clip in the second half.
With the win Azusa Pacific improves to 15-5 overall, 11-0 in the GSAC. Biola falls to 6-18 overall, 3-8 in the GSAC.
