CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The NAIA's No. 24-ranked Azusa Pacific used an early 27-2 run to take control and cruise in for a 64-41 nonconference victory over Pomona-Pitzer.

Freshman Allison Box came off the bench to score a game-high 15 points, thanks to 6-for-8 shooting from the floor, including a 3-for-4 clip at the 3-point arc. Senior Amy Lemm added 12 points and 8 rebounds, while junior Jenn Barbone tossed in 11 points. Senior Jessica Herman tallied 10 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.

The Cougars led 37-14 at the half, converting 16 of their first 30 shots. For the game, they shot at a .450 (27-for-60) clip. The Cougars now have won 3 straight over the Sagehens and 9 of the past 10 meetings.

With the victory, the Cougars have won 3 straight and improve to 3-1 on the season.
