AZUSA, CALIF -- All-American forwards Jason Roufs and Carlos Ochoa each scored a pair of goals as No. 10-ranked Azusa Pacific (3-1-1) cruised to a 5-0 win over Hope International (1-3), Thursday evening in nonconference action in Azusa. Freshman midfielder Matt Evans tallied the other goal and added a pair of assists.
With all of the offense the Cougars produced, they finished the game with nine men as Eric Smith received his second yellow card with 15 minutes to play and Peter McGovern was issued a red card with five minutes remaining for a take-down in a breakaway situation. Kevin Haras recorded an assist as every Cougar saw action.
Azusa Pacific hits the road on Wednesday, Sept. 15 in nonconference action as they take on NCAA Div. III-member UC San Diego in La Jolla at 7 p.m.
