Junior All-American forward Carlos Ochoa, who has missed 5 of the past 6 games with a miscule contusion in his leg, made a grand return to action tonight by scoring the game's first goal in the 25th minute on a rebound off a Matt Evans rifle that Biola goalie Mike Wade deflected back into play.

The Cougars pushed the lead to 2-0 8 minutes into the second half when senior forward Will Cummins tapped in a Eric Smith cross in the 53rd minute. The Cougars, who controlled play throughout the game, kept Biola at bay until Cedric Ernst slipped by a pair of Cougar defenders and beat Cougar goalie Tim Gorman in a 1-on-1 in the 90th minute.

While the victory keeps Azusa Pacific in the playoff hunt, the loss drops Biola into a a GSAC Inland Division tie with the Cougars in second place, a game behind Fresno Pacific. Additionally, the loss keeps Biola from clinching a its first playoff berth since 1993.

Azusa Pacific must defeat Fresno Pacific in Saturday's regular season finale to have any chance of making the playoffs. If the Cougars do prevail in Fresno, then their playoff chances come down to a longo score matched against Fresno Pacific's longo. Those point totals will be determined Saturday night.
