Cougars Snap Skid, Beat SCC

AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific used a powerful offensive explosion to snap a 7-match losing streak in a 15–4, 13-15, 15-10, 15-11, defeat of Southern California College Saturday night in the Cougardome Azusa. It is the Cougars' first victory since October 7.

For the Cougars, Izzy Bolles had a stellar match, pounding home 19 kills with only six errors. Bolles also had 12 digs. Setter Jennifer French also had 12 kills. Anna Thieszen let the blocking attack was six blocks. For theVanguards, Kelli Corcoran had 11 kills, well Tina Rose had nine kills and 10 digs.

In the first game, Azusa Pacific rattled off the first five points only to see SCC answer with 4 straight. The Cougars went on to score of the next 11 points to win the game. In game three, the Cougars were down 4–7, then 9-10, before coming back to win six straight points to take a two games to one advantage.

With the victory, Azusa Pacific is now 8–14 overall, 3–9 in the GSAC, while the Vanguards are now 12-13 overall, 3–9 in the GSAC.
