AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific held Southern California College to just 8 point in the first 16 minutes of the second half to blow open a tight game and cruise to a 60–48 victory over the Vanguards in a Golden State Athletic Conference game in Azusa, Friday night.
The Cougars, who trailed 25-17, with five minutes left in the first half, out-scored SCC 35-7 across the 2 halves to take a commanding 56–35 lead with just under five minutes left in the game. SCC, which was playing without leading scorer Heather Woodruff (sprained ankle) for the third straight game, made just 2 of its first 15 shots to start the second while the Cougars bolted from the gate by making six of their first 10 shots.

Christy Brock led all scorers with 18 points, including 11 in the first half when she rallied the Cougars from an 8-point deficit to a two point halftime lead at 29–27. Junior center Andrea, Maccioila added 12 points, and
Jennifer Felger added 11, nine in the second half
Angela Minor led SCC with 15 points.
With the wind, Azusa Pacific improved to 15–7 on the season, 5-4 in the GSAC while SCC falls to 8-14, overall, 1-6 in the GSAC.
