AZUSA - Debbie Sparks banked in a 6-foot shot with 12 seconds left to allow California Baptist College to escape with a 54-3 victory over Azusa Pacific University in a Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday night.

The victory keeps CBC (6-1 in conference, 13-9 overall) in first place in the GSAC, one game ahead of Fresno Pacific and two ahead of Azusa Pacific (4-3, 16-8).

Sonja Akkerman scored a game game-high 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for CBC.  Amy Walter led Azusa Pacific with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
